RACE INFORMATION
- 2008 Ironman 70.3 Hawaii Awards Banquet tickets will be available for purchase at Registration at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotels and Bungalows on May 29th - May 30th, 2008.
- All Athletes will be required to show identification upon registration.
- 35 qualifying slots to the Ford Ironman World Championship will be available to Big Island athletes that meet the residency requirements.
- 20 qualifying slots to the Ford Ironman World Championship will be available to all other neighbor island athletes that meet the residency requirements.
- 24 International qualifying slots to the Ford Ironman World Championship will be available to all other athletes.
- 50 qualifying slots to the Ironman World Championship 70.3.
- The 2008 Ironman 70.3 Hawaii will take place on the Kohala Coast on the west side of the Island of Hawaii. The Mauna Lani Resort will host the event.
- The race date for 2008 - Saturday, May 31, 2008
- The race is composed of the following distances:
- Swim - 1.2 miles
- Bike - 56 miles
- Run - 13.1 miles
- Cutoff Times
- Swim course will be CLOSED 1 hour and 15 minutes from start of race.
- Bike course will be CLOSED 5 hours and 30 minutes from start of race.
- Run course will be CLOSED 8 hours and 30 minutes from start of race.
- The swim start is at 7:00 a.m. at Hapuna Beach State Park. Water temperature will be approximately 78 degrees F, making wetsuits unnecessary.

- The bike transition is at Hapuna Beach, the bike course takes athletes out onto the famed Ironman Hawaii route. Exiting Hapuna Beach, riders will travel the Queen Ka'ahumanu Hwy and then onto Akoni Pule Hwy. The turnaround is in the Hawi Town area. The bike finish is at Mauna Lani Resort.

- If you earn a slot to compete at the Ford Ironman World Championship or the Ironman World Championship 70.3 you must be present at the Awards Banquet to accept your slot. You will be required at that time to pay your entry fee - no exceptions. The Awards Banquet will take place following the race, starting at 4:00 p.m.
- If you earn and accept a slot to compete at the Ford Ironman World Championship and later decide you must drop you must contact the Race Office, in writing, within 30 days to let them know you will not be accepting the slot. This slot can be rolled down only during this 30-day period. Slots are not transferable.
- There are no Clydesdales or Athena Divisions
- There are no relays
- No Wetsuits allowed.
- No Disc Wheels allowed.
- You must be 17 years of age or older on race day to enter.
